Permaculture Yarra Valley Inc. is offering an extended part-time
Permaculture Design Course
May-October 2018.
When : Wednesday evenings, 6.30 – 9.30 pm weekly and five Sundays, 9.30 am to 5 pm, starting Wednesday 2nd May.
Where: Yarra Valley ECOSS, Wesburn, for evening sessions, various permaculture properties for Sunday sessions.
Cost: $600
Tutors: Graeme George, Stuart Ryder, John Williams, Travis Heenan, Kerry Dawborn and guests with extensive experience of the Yarra Valley.
This course will follow the extended syllabus of the Permaculture Educator’s Guild, which includes material from Bill Mollison’s “Permaculture: a Designer’s Manual” (1988) and David Holmgren’s “Permaculture Principles” (2002). These extended courses go into more detail than is possible on the traditional 72 hour PDC and give greater emphasis to the ecological processes on which permaculture design is based, the design process itself and the development of landscape reading skills and applications suitable to our bio-region.
Ecological and design theory will be covered in detail over the evening sessions. Site visits and practical exercises will be undertaken on the Sundays. Some reading and work on mapping and designs will need to be undertaken in your own time.
Bookings: To register your interest and obtain an enrolment form please advise Graeme by email earthcarepc@virtual.net.au or phone 5962 5070.
