What a fantastic time we are having at ECOSS at the moment…
Last week we had the Regenerative Agriculture Seminar with wonderful speakers about setting up your regenerative farm on a budget, the beauty of dung beetles and amazing biochar. We had 25 participants who were very engaged.
We recently held the annual Pruning Day in which 25 participants attended, learning various pruning techniques for stone fruits, grapes and apples. As a result almost all the ECOSS fruit trees are pruned, ready for a bumper summer crop! Thinning pruning will be done in Summer, keep an eye out for an invite to join in that too.
We had beautiful live music at the ECOSS Valley Market last Friday and after the Market we had Music in the Mountains – A Youth Showcase with 4 quality youth performances with 123 attendees enjoying the talent of the next generation.
Chai and Chat has been happening on Saturdays and Tuesdays at Melganics, this has been a wonderful social addition to the site.
Here’s what’s coming up this week…
Continue to support local food security at the Market by purchasing your food directly from the growers and bakers at the ECOSS Valley Market on Friday 3.30-6pm.
The Pottery Studio will be hosting a fundraiser this Saturday night 5th August – Please come and help to get this wonderfully creative space open again!
Also coming up this Saturday 10-3 we have the Rare and Heritage Fruit Tree scion swap in the Coop – let’s keep those heritage varieties going – not to be missed!
Our Nursery is now taking orders for next year so please consider ECOSS when planning your native gardens, and come and buy straight from the Nursery.
We are also currently concocting some circular economy social enterprises – soon to be announced. Stay tuned…
