Permaculture Design Certificate

Overview

This course will follow the extended syllabus of the Permaculture Educator’s Guild, which includes material from Bill Mollison’s “Permaculture: a Designer’s Manual” (1988) and David Holmgren’s “Permaculture Principles” (2002). These extended courses go into more detail than is possible on the traditional 72 hour PDC and give greater emphasis to the ecological processes on which permaculture design is based, the design process itself and the development of landscape reading skills and applications suitable to our bio-region.

Ecological and design theory will be covered in detail over classroom sessions. Site visits and practical exercises will be undertaken on the Sundays. Some reading and work on mapping and designs will need to be undertaken in your own time.
